The Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) has been recognised on the implementation of beneficial ownership transparency in Africa.
The recognition was conferred by the Africa Beneficial Ownership Transparency (AfBOT) Network at a regional workshop on Beneficial Ownership organised in Cape Town, South Africa.
The event aimed at providing opportunities for member countries and international partners to continue discussing on progress, opportunities, and challenges in implementation of beneficial ownership reforms across the region.
On his part, Africa Development Bank (AfDB) Director, Mr. Abdoulaye Coulibaly, said collaboration amongst members of the network will help in building a robust system since the network is growing. The award was received by the FIA's Senior Compliance Analyst, Mr. Brighton Msiska, who attended the workshop.
